Solid Ohio white oak, mortise-and-tenon construction, finished by hand with a period-appropriate amber shellac. The tall carved headboard is etched, by a single third-generation letter carver, with the words CAN'T SLEEP, CLOWNS WILL EAT ME.
Generations of American children have fallen asleep beneath this reassuring reminder. The etching is hand-cut; no two beds are identical.
